Politicians Seek Electorate's Blessing at March for Jesus

06/01/2018 - 12H17

Estevam Hernandes, the apostle who conceived of the March for Jesus, said on the eve of the event that the march is not a political platform, "but we pray for everyone".

However, that did not keep several politicians from seeking the electorate's blessing for the coming election. Among them were candidates João Doria (PSDB) and Márcio França (PSB), both of whom will be running for the governorship of São Paulo, and presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro (PSL), who said he sent a "love letter" to senator Magno Malta (PR) - the vice-presidential candidate of his dreams.

The march, which took place on Corpus Christi, on Thursday (the 31st), started in the downtown region of São Paulo and ended in the city's northern district - the event's traditional route. The organization estimated that 2 million people attended.

The Cristero War can be seen as a major event in the struggle between Church and State dating back to the 19th century with the War of Reform, but it can also be interpreted as the last major peasant uprising in Mexico following the end of the military phase of the Mexican Revolution in 1920.

It must be because so many groups here with ulterior motives got very involved in Mexico's religious war for their own purposes.

Felt like vomiting learning the KKK also stuck its snout into the bloody war simply because they have always hated Catholics. As if this was any of their business!

90,000 perished.... Unbelievable.

This material is bound to be absolutely new to many who might read it or tell others about it who don't know. Completely staggering information, which actually involved a lot of disparate US citizens, too.

Anyone who reads your post will have learned far more than he/she expected to learn.

Thank you, Xipe Totec, for helping to deepening our understanding of the US's huge neighbor to the South.
