Chavismo "nationalizes" more of food markets. Next stop on Bolivarian express: Starvation

El Aissami announced occupation of eight municipal markets, including Coche and Quinta Crespo
The occupied establishments are in the states of Lara, Carabobo, Aragua, Miranda and the Capital District

Capital District .- Since the morning of this Wednesday, June 20, the temporary occupation of eight markets began in several states of the country: San Francisco Market, South Municipal Market, Mercabar, Wholesale Market of Aragua, Free Market of Maracay, Market of Wholesalers of Valencia, Petare Municipal Market, Car Market and the Main Market of Quinta Crespo. This was explained by the vice president for the economic area, Tareck El Aissami, in transmission by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

According to El Aissami, this sanctioning measure is endorsed by the Organic Law of Fair Prices and seeks to end the hoarding and speculation that, apparently, exist in these establishments. The measure also includes seeking a better functioning of these spaces.

The Aissami explained that this initiative will be divided into two phases: the first began with the decision to occupy these eight markets, plus the occupation of 21 other markets, of which he did not elaborate. In the second phase will be the intervention of 68 more markets, for a total of 97 establishments throughout the national territory.

After this decision, the businesses within these markets must offer the products with agreed prices, which, according to El Aissami, must be "real". The decision also includes the incorporation of public distribution chains (Mercal, Pdval and Clap) within these markets.

This operation was carried out jointly with the National Armed Forces and the Great Sovereign Supply Mission.

The prices in the markets ARE real. It is Chavismo that lives in FantasyLand. They think the problem is "hoarding and speculation" (always someone else to blame!), when in reality, the prices paid for food and clothing are appropriate anywhere else on the planet. The PROBLEM is the economic policies of Maduro et al. If paid for in dollars, the food is very inexpensive. Two pounds of butter in the US costs about $5 if it can be found on sale... in Venezuela, it runs at half that... but it cannot be found due to the bizarre economic policies of Chavismo who dictates that it be sold for a few pennies... regardless of what the retailer had to pay to purchase the butter.

Next: the same thing that happened when SUNDDE raided clothing retailers and told them to start selling their stuff at "state approved" prices... they were closed within a day when the clothing disappeared and where not replaced.

Collectivos and police robbing farmers, so their food doesn't reach the economy.

The government pushing stores into bankruptcy, so they cannot restock their shelves.

And the government taking over the stores won't help either: Now it's the government who has to sell products for cents on the Dollar.

They ACTUALLY believe that they are not culpable for any of the disaster that is Venezuela. EVERY bad thing that happens is part of the plot from US Imperialists.

There is NO MOTOR OIL AND GASOLINE in a nation that has the worlds largest oil reserves. It has STATE OWNED refineries. Yet it cannot pump, transport, refine its oil, nor distribute its own gasoline any longer... but can blame THAT on the United States?

Chavismo. It defies all logic.
