A group of eight armed individuals stole a delegation of Cuban health missions in Ciudad Caribia, near the Caracas-La Guaira highway.
The journalist Román Camacho reported the fact on his Twitter account. He explained that a total of 152,000 dollars, 30,000 pesos and cell phones were stolen.
Officials of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) and the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) as well as the Scientific and Criminal Investigations Body (CICPC) moved to the place.
Camacho explained that 38 of the delegates who landed in the country had $4,000 for the personal expenses that would be used during their stay in the mission.

Not to worry... the money was given to them by Venezuela anyway. Maduro will just go to the "piggy bank" and give them back more of the money that the Castro's have been siphoning off Venezuela for the last 19 years.
But it is funny that the PNB, GNB and CICPC are all mobilized. Squatters (Chavista loyalists) recently moved into hotels and private properties, kicking out guests and the owners of said properties... and nobody has done anything about that. On orders from "higher up".

CICPC does not rule out that police or collectives are implicated in millionaire robbery of Cuban doctors in Ciudad Caribia
By Carlos D 'HoyDate: 07/02/2018
Officials attached to the Criminal Scientific and Criminal Investigation Body (CICPC), as well as a commission of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (SEBIN) are conducting investigations to clarify the millionaire robbery perpetrated against more than one hundred Cuban doctors who spent the night in the base of missions of the urbanismo Ciudad Caribia, located on the Caracas La Guaira highway.
Although Commissioner Mauricio Rico, director of the CICPC did not provide information on the case, other sources consulted pointed out that investigators do not rule out that the authors of the robber millionaire are linked with police agencies or with the so-called collectives, due to the way the commando group that perpetrated the theft acted.
Nor do they rule out the participation of people linked to the delegation of Cuban doctors in the assault, since the armed group had accurate information about the arrival of 38 medical professionals occurred a few hours before the assault. "They knew where they were and where they were going to stay, a fact that is important for investigations since the delegation does not remain long in the same base, but they are rotated by different headquarters for security reasons. The assailants knew where to go," the source said.
Another important fact is that the criminals knew that the newcomers had money in foreign currencies for their expenses during their stay in the country and went directly for them.

How in the world did Cuban "doctors" (salary ~$30/month) get $4000 each... in a country with strict currency controls? It is illegal for Cubans (in Cuba) to have foreign currency, and typically, when anyone enters Venezuela, they are greeted by very friendly Chavista customs officials who, as a courtesy to you, exchange your foreign courtesy for worthless Bolivars. At the official rate of 10 BsF to the dollar.
