The overflow of the installed capacity for health care of the Venezuelan population, which joins the Colombians who must also be assisted, led the Council of Cúcuta to urge the municipal administration to declare a health emergency, in order to achieve the obtaining of more resources that the region urges, publishes La Opinión .
For the president of the corporation, Jaime Marthey, the mayor (César Rojas) has the faculties to do so, as well as the obvious and urgent need to raise the request as head of the Risk Management Board, which gives him the power to declare the emergency .
For his part, Councilman Alexánder Salazar noted that "if we want resources we have to declare the emergency," and recalled that in other cities such as Bogotá, emergency was declared in the case of garbage, and in an area such as the border whose risk of health is high, with greater justification the process should be carried out.
