Evo Morales Calls for More Opportunities for Afro Descendant Women

La Paz, Jul 25 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Evo Morales called today for equal rights and opportunities in the context of the commemoration of International Day of Afro descendant Women.

Morales also highlighted the role of women in society and sent fraternal greetings to the Latin American and Caribbean women who 'fight tirelessly for the equality of rights '.

'A hug, sisters,' he wrote on Twitter.

The International Day of Women of African Descent has been celebrated since July 25, 1992, when women from 32 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean gathered in the Dominican Republic to protest against gender-based violence.
