Human rights activists would
applaud end to Honduran aid

Re: “Trump to cut aid to three Central American countries” (Page A4, March 31):

Trump is threatening to withhold funding from Central America, some of which could be military aid.

Honduran defenders of human rights and the environment as well as journalists speaking truth to power would rejoice if military aid was halted.

It is being used by a corrupt government to arm and train the Honduran military and police. Crimes committed by police and military often go unprosecuted.
