Dilma Rousseff condemns US campaign against Cuban medical solidarity

Brasilia, Oct 2 (Prensa Latina) Former Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff (2011-2016) on Friday strongly condemned the US attempt to twist one of the largest global solidarity actions of a country by harshly campaigning against Cuba's international medical cooperation.

With this new crusade, 'the United States wants the blockade to be extended to prevent Cuba from cooperating and this is extremely perverse and has an electoral echo towards Republican Party and a tightening policy the Republicans consider more appropriate,' Rousseff said during an online debate on TV 247 with former Minister of Health Alexandre Padilla.

She insisted that 'there is an electoral echo there (United States) and there is an electoral echo here (Brazil).'

Washington's new actions with pressure, blackmail, and blockades against the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) are part of a 'major offensive by the United States against Cuba and international cooperation organizations,' he said.

Viva, Dilma.

Dilma Rousseff, before a military court, being tried as a rebel against the Brazilian military dictatorship. Note
the judges are hiding their faces from the camera.

She was tortured over a long time. Fellow prisoners from that time have stated she was exceptionally strong,
and resistant throughout.

Heroic people like Dilma Rousseff are precious.
