Belgians ask for Nobel Peace Prize to Cuban doctors
Brussels, Oct 11 (Prensa Latina) The Belgian association Cubanismo.be on Sunday supported the request to grant the Nobel Peace Prize to Cuba's Henry Reeve medical brigades, and highlighted the example of solidarity they represent in the global fight against Covid-19.
In statements to Prensa Latina, Cubanismo.be President Isabelle Vanbrabant reiterated her support for the request turned into a global campaign, and mentioned the launch of an initiative on Friday in Belgium to promote that the presence of the Cuban health professionals in dozens of countries hit by the pandemic is recognized.
Vanbrabant recalled that Cubanismo.be had launched an online call in May to promote granting the Nobel Prize to Cuba's Henry Reeve medical brigades, with more than 1,300 signatures collected so far.
According to Vanbrabant, the association will take several actions until late January 2021, when the deadline to formalize the candidacies for the 2021 prize expires.
