Venezuela's Bolívar state inaugurates Este water pipeline
12/13/2012

The government of Venezuela's Bolívar state has inaugurated the Este water pipeline in the community of 11 de Abril, Ciudad Guayana, state news agency AVN reported.

The water pipeline, expected to benefit over 70,000 people with potable water supply available 24 hours a day, required an investment of 40mn bolívares (US$9.32mn) from the interterritorial compensation fund of the government's federal council.

The infrastructure includes three potable water plants, two of which were acquired by the national government through cooperation agreements with Uruguay, while the third plant was built by Venezuela's state water utility Hidrobolívar.

Works also included a 2.7km main pipeline to transfer water from the Orinoco river to the complex, a 1.5Ml water storage tank and 17km of distribution pipelines.
