Cuba ready to implement new Migration Act

THE Cuban Immigration and Foreign Travel Office (DIE) has announced that the conditions are in place for the entry into force of legal regulations related to the updating of the migration and travel policy, scheduled for January 14.

The DIE emphasized that preparations made after the new legislation was announced guarantee the success of the new measures, which will benefit the population by making migration procedures more flexible.

In accordance with the new regulations, applications for passports can be made at current Identity Card and Population Register offices, as well as the country’s Immigration and Foreign Travel offices.

The national press reports that 195 offices have been established for the new procedures nationwide.
