Bolsonaro Lies in Interview and Sets Conditions for Accepting Elections Result
President gave a false report regarding pandemic actions and denies insulting justice Alexandre Moraes

President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) set conditions for accepting the results of the elections and lied, during an interview in Jornal Nacional, when talking about actions taken during the Covid-19 pandemic and denied having insulted justices. He was the first candidate to participate in a series of interviews with all the presidential candidates on the news program by TV Globo. During the interview, there were protests with people at home banging on pots and pans in several capitals of the country.
Last year, Bolsonaro called justice Alexandre de Moraes a "scoundrel". In addition, he has also called justice Luís Roberto Barroso a "son of a bitch". After his declaration in Jornal Nacional that he had never insulted any justice, the show's host, William Bonner, recalled the episode involving Alexandre de Moraes. Bolsonaro then admitted to having verbally attacked the justice but said that the altercation had been only with him and omitted having also insulted Barroso.
The president was requested by the hosts to make the commitment that he would respect the result of the elections. However, he once again placed a condition that he would do so if he concluded the elections to be "clean" - which he denies being the case, as he continues to cast doubt on the country's electoral system. "The results of the polls will be respected as long as the elections are clean," said the president.
