(This reeking racism, etc. has happened repeatedly in Bolivia, always, of course, from members of the small elite European-descended "conquerer"-class which has ruthlessly, viciously controlled Bolivia since the invasion hundreds of years ago. Degrading racist remarks have frequently been flung by both female and male Miss and Mr. Bolivia contestants, to the media, one, a Mr. Bolivia, is the son of a previous US Peace Corp worker, Ronald Larsen, of Montana, who grabbed enough land to become mega-rich and been in trouble with Evo Morales' government for "slavery" issues. )

(3,390 posts)I was posted as a U.S. diplomat in la Paz, Bolivia during the 1980s, and the irony is that this womans ancestors (from the old Yugoslavia), immigrated to Bolivia to seek refuge from communism, and such immigrants were themselves not very well received by the Bolivian Elite. Not only is she a mindless racist, but also a total hypocrite.

(160,456 posts)That should be a record for Presidents in 10 years. It includes a Cocaine Coup, as well. Wow.
Thank you for the insight on Miss Bolivia.
It's a real pity the Bolivian racist "beauty queens" use their spotlight time attacking people who don't have any way of protecting themselves from the slander, and hatred. Sad they keep doing it. Their hatred creates a living hell for the native Bolivian people who are in Bolivia naturally, with no means to migrate elsewhere, since most of them are so very poor. They shouldn't have to leave their country to find a place to live without 24/7 malice filling the air around them.
Siles and Paz-Estensoro were Presidents during my posting there 1984-86, both members of the local ruling families.
