Violence against women and girls in Colombia has seen a major increase in the first 10 months of 200 compared to the same period last year, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The government agency released the alarming figures as part of the commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

The Medical Examiner’s Office said that so far this year the agency received almost 30,000 spousal abuse reports and almost 9,900 domestic abuse reports related to women and girls.

The agency’s medical personnel additionally conducted more than 18,700 rape tests, of which more than half had been requested for girls under 18 years old.

This news isn't a bit good to hear.

I completely believe everywhere the Roman Catholic church and the Protestant Fundies have kept people under their power, women have suffered under that "macho" obsession. They have been wildly abused throughout the Americas for a very long time, no doubt, but it's a genuine crisis now.

I was just thinking today that whoever wrote the Old Testament set things in motion by claiming that Eve was the fiend who led sweet, trusting Adam astray and made him screw up by unknowingly eating cursed fruit!

I mean, really, what kind of lunatic would create a paradise and claim you can eat any fruit there except for one which will damn you forever, and not tell Adam about it, too? Oh, pleeeeze!

So apparently millions and millions and millions of people have grown up believing that yarn and imagining the "first woman" was evil, and destroyed "first man's" life.

destroy the Goddess in all Her forms, a record of the destruction of Her followers. It is deeply disturbing how much that first piece of political propaganda still affects, and in many cases controls, our lives today.
