John Kerry Tearfully Thanks Well-Wishers For Supporting Ill Wife (VIDEO)

Secretary of State John Kerry tearfully thanked the public Wednesday for its "remarkable outpouring of good wishes" during his wife Teresa Heinz Kerry's illness.

"Teresa is doing better, under evaluation and we hope improving," Kerry said at the opening of talks between the U.S. and China at the State Department, appearing to choke up with emotion.

Heinz Kerry, 74, was hospitalized Sunday in Nantucket.

This is sweet and clearly heartfelt. This must have been such a scary time for JK and their whole family. So glad she's doing better!!!

And, that a stroke, heart attack, and brain turmor had been ruled out. I was tearful when I heard about Mrs. Kerry being rushed to the hospital, she is a real treasure, and it would be such a terrible shame to lose her.

I imagine the Glenn Becks of the world will have their idiotic comments to make to this - they always do - but no one who's seen the way JK looks at Teresa can fail to appreciate how much (and how obviously) he loves her.

I'll never get used to how deliberately certain people misunderstand him.

Thanks for posting this - it's incredibly moving.
