a caucus leader in Iowa, was an early supporter. We have a shirt upstairs from his campaign that he autographed.

She has some great pictures from that election, of her with Kerry, Bill Clinton, Senator Harkin and Elizabeth Edwards. I have to find the picture with Elizabeth!

Giving various speeches, headlining rallies for himself or others, and at his book tour (with Teresa). I would say that he is completely underrated by the MSM in that he was extremely charismatic and very eloquent when he spoke - formally or informally.

I think he is far less accessible as SoS, but from the media coverage of speeches - such as this week's AIPAC speech ( http://www.c-span.org/video/?318071-3/secretary-kerry-middle-east-peace ) and his speech in Ukraine, he is giving speeches - similar to his best policy speeches (such as those at Fanueil Hall in 2006/2007). What is different is that he is NOT making the political attacks that he did (well) as Senator.

One thing true - no matter what setting - is that he always was very intensely focused, serious and very courteous to people speaking to him. (It also seemed at the book events that he seemed more animated - and very obviously happier - when Teresa was there.
