Are you afraid is something, and if you admitted it ...

... Would you be concerned that it would make you appear weak? Or somehow "less of a man"? (Not that I buy into that stereotype personally).

I have a few. I freely admit to a couple of them, fear of heights so strong I won't go up a ladder more than 2 steps. And a big one, now having had a "mental health crisis" and diagnosis, I am really afraid that it could somehow be used against me in some sense some day.

We evolved with it. It's a necessity of survival. I'd be more concerned of the person who feared nothing.

I don't like water. I can't swim worth a damn, so water makes me nervous. That and the fact that where I come from even in water where swimming isn't necessary there might be a water moccasin in there the size of your leg.

The other stuff?

I have been accused of being an asshole, well I'm belligerent toward my own weaknesses too. Fear isn't going to keep me down here on the ground. I might not be as graceful up on the roof as some of my friends... but fuck it, bones heal.

Not sure of the need for "admission," except for some cathartic value. I think there are many fears where one doesn't need to admit to them.

I don't like loud buzzing things flying around my head.

I once freaked so bad out at a Hawk Moth flying around my head at night, I nearly jumped off a second story balcony.

I don't like Hummingbirds flying to close to me without me knowing it.

No idea why, I just don't like it.

I understand what you are saying because prior to meeting my partner, it was a fear of mine...sort of. I like being by myself. But, there is also a difference between being "alone" and being "lonely." I can say, as corny and trite as it, stop looking. Let love look for you!

I try not to let it rule me, though. I am afraid to even kiss my partner in public for fear of what could happen to us. Do you have any idea how sad it is when we go to an airport and everyone is kissing their loved one "good-bye" and we have to "air kiss" when no one is looking?! I am also afraid of being 'useless' as I haven't had a job in ten years. My sense of purpose was rocked.

I lived in a dorm in college that was infested with them. Even when there is a commercial for a bug spray with cockroaches it just makes me freak.
