• Key economic data points are slated for release this week, giving investors broad insight into how consumers are feeling about the state of the U.S. economy.
• Retail sales, inflation figures and existing home sales for February are due. Combined, the economic data points will give investors a pulse on everything from price increases to the state of the real estate market.

Investors will get a broad view of how the U.S. economy is doing this week with a bevy of key economic data slated for release.

On the consumer spending front, be on the lookout for retail sales and consumer inflation expectations for February. Both data points will provide insight into how consumers are faring as inflation continues unabated.

Also slated for release is the Producer Price Index for February, which will highlight inflation statistics from the perspective of manufacturers, existing home sales for February and weekly unemployment data. Combined, investors will get a better sense of how the economy is faring as COVID-19 cases ease. It also comes amid record inflation and soaring gas prices, which have been largely driven by the armed conflict unfolding overseas.
