Hunger and cold drive Manitowoc Crane workers to support anti-union contract

http://www.laborradio.org/Channels/Story.aspx?ID=1643232

1/23/2012
After 66 days on strike workers at Manitowoc Crane in Wisconsin are returning to work today in what could be considered a new day for the United States for workers having the right to collectively bargain. The workers voted 112-59 in favor of a contract that includes language that allows employees to opt out of paying union dues. The vote came not due to workers agreeing to the language, but instead the ability of the company to wait out workers who were trying to keep families fed and homes heated.
