Xerox calls 911 to request police presence BEFORE layoffs at Cary call center

>>>
Xerox called police to its Cary facility Friday morning just before laying off 168 employees.

The company called 911 around 6 a.m. to request a police presence at their Crescent Green Drive facility.

Cary Dispatch confirmed to ABC11 that Xerox said they "were expecting trouble."

There were no reports of trouble at the company after they laid off the employees from its call center operation.

This story is very disturbing. A peek into the future maybe?

At one time, these companies actually had to hire security (like Pinkerton) to protect them from angry (and often exploited) laborers. Now, taxpayers foot the bill for them.

jobs and make sure there wasn't any trouble. I kind of take that as management realizing it was chickenshit and feeling that they have a little trouble coming.

I went to school with a guy that was partners in a group that owned several Godfathers Pizza places. Some of their employees showed up for work in the Tri-Cities in Washington state and their was a notice that the place was closed! I saw him at our reunion and didn't even talk to him. I don't care what excuse he would have, there is no excuse! No notice at all? Like they didn't know it was coming to shutting that down? They don't give them a heads up because they don't want anyone quitting on them and costing them a few bucks. Milk every last dollar out of them right to the night before. They don't care that someone might have spent a few hundred bucks that they wouldn't have if they knew they were losing their job or anything like that.
