My brother's a heavy duty mechanic who works on Caterpillar equipment; he like the quality of the machines, and believes it's because of othe unionized workers, not the useless management twerps. He's paying careful attention to this strike. Unfortunately, I think Caterpillar management is going to win, as they are starting to off-shore production to India and China.

Parts are shipped to him from Africa; he rarely gets the part he needs the first time; they just seem to send whatever they feel like. But management at his firm doesn't care, because they only look at the labor costs.
