I too have a home, but it took years of sacrifice to pay off that mortgage. Now I sacrifice to pay the property taxes that have more than doubled since the burning of the mortgage.

I retired today, and I can only hope that SS will allow me to stay in my home.

but there may be a state, county, or city tax relief program for the elderly, the disabled, or the disabled veteran where you live.
