1. Crypto processing requires a *lot* of energy. Why not just a credit card?

Seems counterproductive to use a monetary source that puts far more CO2 in the atmosphere than a reasonable alternative so we can save a portion of the amazon to capture CO2.

2. What would the credit card purchase?

This is giving some value, at least theoretically, to the purchaser. The concept of gaining some type of quasi-property right makes this unique.
