Are there specific stocks or sectors of stock you will not hold out of principle?

I will not buy alcohol, tobacco (though I have some cannabis stock), firearms, gambling, Facebook or Tesla. I DO hold some fossil fuels because I use the gains to buy renewables. How do you play the market and morals?

I do not own tobacco, oil or gas stocks and firmly believe in ESG investments. walkingman Nov 2022 #1

But I do have portions of money in socially conscious, green energy, and other mutual funds.

Not all of my money is there.

There are several mutual funds that are three or four stars (average or above average performance) that are socially rest.

Just my two cents...I use TIAA Cref because I work for a nonprofit.

I tend more towards the tech and biotech sectors when I buy on E-Trade. I try to avoid anything owned by Chinese or Russian firms. However, most of my money comes from my parents, and I use their financial advisor. I have told him that I prefer "green" stocks, like renewable energy, etc.
