Twin Cities, MN, set to break 143-yr record for longest growing season

http://www.kare11.com/news/143-year-old-weather-record-in-jeopardy/347184540

The last time we had temps below freezing was on April 12 -- 205 days ago. The longest growing season on record is 207 days. Our forecast into the weekend is very warm, so we will easily see the 143-year-old record broken.

How rare is this year? Quite.

The latest frost we've seen in recent years was on Oct. 28, 2007. Before that, you have to go back to the 1970s when we had our first frost on Oct. 30, 1973.

I'm still harvesting banana peppers from my plants in the garden! And the chard and carrots look great as well. If the blight hadn't gotten the tomatoes, I'd have those as well.

It is not just frost free, but also warm. We still have mosquitoes out.
It is in the freaking 70s in November!
