Seniors organize against climate change

From Yale Climate Connections: These seniors are organizing against climate change. These Massachusetts seniors have decided that a ruined climate is not the heritage they want to leave to their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Decades ago, the civil rights and anti-war movements propelled many young people toward political activism. One of those people was Grady McGonagill.

McGonagill: “I had been a conscientious objector to the Vietnam War in the late sixties.”

In recent years, he says, his activism was reborn.

McGonagill: “I decided I was a conscientious objector to climate change.”

McGonagill founded the Massachusetts Chapter of Elders Climate Action, a grassroots movement of senior citizens pushing for climate-friendly energy policies.

They have no choice. It is their heritage.

These are, I suspect, largely the same people who "decided" that nuclear energy was "too dangerous" and insisted on entrenching the dangerous fossil fuel industry by weak rhetoric about so called "renewable energy."

Guess what? So called "renewable energy" didn't work, isn't working, and won't work.

Instead of chasing after stock brokers their whole lives, it would have been better if more of them had taken science or engineering courses.

Baby boomers represent one of the most "head up their asses" generations ever to live in this country. Their "legacy" is a destroyed environment and, um, Donald Trump.

I know whence I speak.
