But it would be much easier to make diesel fuel. Gasoline would require 'cracking', breaking the oil molecules into smaller pieces. Petroleum diesel is different from bio-diesel (which can be made from any animal fat or vegetable oil) in only a small functionality on the molecule. Other than that, the molecules are the same size.

Did I say that is a BAD idea?

We hunted the baleen whales ("right whales&quot almost to extinction because they had the oil we used to light lamps etc.

They are mammals like us and dolphins and still endangered.

Where did this question about making gas from their oil come from? I'm curious if someone is trying to sell it.
