A 17-foot-long python was found in Florida

A 17-foot-long python was found in Florida.

That's a pretty big snake!

The female reptile, which weighs 140 pounds, was found in the Big Cypress National Preserve.

This makes her the biggest snake to be found in the region.

At the time, she was carrying 73 eggs. Just something to think about.

Something else to think about. They're not indigenous to Florida. They're are there because a few dumbshits thought they would be neat pets and later released them into the wild.

...to an international exotic pet business that was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew, releasing hundreds of specimens into the Everglades. People releasing their pets when they get big enough to eat their children is a problem, but it was a business higher up in the supply chain that bears the specific blame. Naturally, without consumer demand, the business would have no niche, but I digress....
