Arctic sea ice finished June with the 8th lowest extent on record.

But in the four days since, it has lost 1 million sq km and is now the lowest for the 4th of July on record, over 200,000 sq km lower than the record last year.

Extent is lowest it's ever been for this date. Amazing drop-off over the last few days - ~800,000 km2.
