Though there are those who disagree, coal/gas fired plants are far more destructive and dangerous to humans and the climate.

Nice guy, sort of, but if reality bites too hard, it may affect his tenure decision when it comes up.

If the plant is shut down natural gas will be burned to pick up the load.
Natural gas is the greatest threat to our future largely because people think it's "clean" and it supports the economic viability of their renewable energy fantasies.
