Related: About this forumSteve King: We might not notice ‘if sea levels go up 4 or 6 inches’
Fucking measurement statistics, how do they work?
The Republican congressman said that scientists are too focused on the bad impacts of increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Everything that might result from a warmer planet is always bad in [climate scientists'] analysis, he opined. There will be more photosynthesis going on if the Earth gets warmer And if sea levels go up 4 or 6 inches, I dont know if wed know that.
King told the crowd that sea levels could not be precisely measured.
We dont know where sea level is even, let alone be able to say that its going to come up an inch globally because some polar ice caps might melt because theres CO2 suspended in the atmosphere.
An analysis published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences late last month found that more than 1,700 U.S. cities and towns could be partially underwater by the end of this century. And 80 of those cities could be below the high-water mark in the next decade.
None of them, however, are in Iowa.

The higher sea levels helped to contribute to much of the destruction.

(16,993 posts)5. I keep saying there should be a law that idiots can't serve in Congress
That would take care of so many of them: King, Bachmann, Inhofe, Gohmert, Bridenstine...
Truly, these people are N U T S ! They have no business making decisions that effect other people's lives. It's like having the patients run the asylum.
