[font size=3]Blaming industry conditions and the lending climate, Roseville-based Solar Power Inc. announced a bigger quarterly loss and plunging revenue on Friday.
The company, which now goes by the name SPI Solar (OTCBB: SOPW), posted a net loss for the second quarter of $6.8 million on revenue of $4.2 million. A year ago it reported a loss of $2.1 million on $24.4 million in revenue for the same period.

LDK Solar Co. Ltd. (NYSE: LDK) of China acquired a 70 percent interest in SPI Solar for about $33 million in March 2011. The Roseville company, which gets solar panels from its corporate parent, has said that a trade dispute over Chinese-made solar panels has hurt its business.
After posting a $1.7 million profit for 2011, SPI Solar recorded a $25.6 million loss in 2012, with revenue dropping to $99 million from $139 million a year earlier.[/font][/font]
