(51,076 posts)I can see why some question GW. This summer has been real nice where the last two summers were brutal. So far this summer I haven't seen 100 yet where the last two summers I seen 30 plus 100 plus degree days by now. Big difference. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying I doubt GW just that I can see why some have doubts.

(10,602 posts)Global warming is like a croc sneaking up on you from underwater near the bank of a river you are standing on. Remember the scene from Crocodile Dundee. Very few signs until it is too late. I know a young weather scientist who works on GW research. His take. GW is here the only thing we can do is stop the worst case. Each day we delay means it will get much worse. It is like a treatable cancer that goes untreated and denied. The only question is no one knows when it will be too late to stop catastrophe.
If you look up Dr. Frank Baxter on Youtube there is a segment from a 1950's Bell Telephone special with Richard Carlson that shows we knew about GW in the 1950's. I watched that program on TV when I was in grade school. It was fascinating.

(10,602 posts)You can really see that if you look at photographs of major glaciers taken during the early age of photography and compare that to photos of today. I have seen some articles on the net. And the evidence is scarily impressive.
You just want to bitch slap any politician who publicly denies GW. We have a Dem Andrew Romanoff running against GOPPER Mike Coffman who is a big denier in Colorado. Coffman is a weasley little bastard.
