(62,276 posts)Just going on personal judgment, but that red is going to be hitting the entire globe in, say, 15-20 years tops.

(18,541 posts)"Warming" is too easily debunked, but everyone with a window knows that we're not living in 1968 anymore. It's different everywhere across the U.S. because the jet stream is twisted like a snake. It didn't used to be like that.
You know I love you all, but what is going on cannot be nailed down to a warming of our climate, the effects are different for every part of the world, every part of the U.S..
We don't have "warming", we have "seriously fucked up weather".
I'm not so concerned with the ppl of the NE (at least not just yet), but the fact that we're going to lose our trees to predators because we didn't have cold-enough winters. Y'all in the west are screwn without he snowpack in the mountians.
I don't know what to say, except that this is some seriously FU'd weather.

(25,699 posts)Don't concede ground to dumbfucks who say "Ah-hyuk, it snowed so it ain't gettin' no warmer!"
It is global warming. The entire globe is, well, getting warmer. This results in climate change - climate change is the symptom, not the event itself.

(592 posts)I advanced it year by year ... especially from the late 60s thru the 70s... as my memory of those winters living in the U.P. of Michigan it was VERY cold.... 30 .. 40 even 50 below zero (not windchill) and this video supports that... it definitely turned blue thru those years... and of course the steady warming from the late 90s to present.
This year... in the U.P... we haven't had more than a couple of nights that were below zero and the last few days have been near 40 degrees ...something I couldn't imagine as a teenager living on a country farm and for the most part... the temp never getting above zero at all for the months of January and Febuary.
The scarey thing is I really don't think it will stop... as too many people in power are burying their heads in the sand and won't allow the government to make the changes necessary to help curb the trend.
