Wal-Mart Return Center Shut Down By PCB Find; Blood Testing Or Pay For Workers? Hah-HAHHAHHAHH!!

INDIANAPOLIS - The 13 Investigates team broke the story of toxic chemicals at a local Walmart Return Center. Indiana's work safety officials at IOSHA opened their own investigation after our calls, and now there are new questions about why some workers are being tested while others are not.

"I did work for them," said Aggie Dodd, holding up the shirt to her security guard uniform. Aggie logged 40 hours a week at Exel as a contracted employee. She hasn't returned to her security checkpoint since she and nearly 600 other workers at the Walmart Return Center were told to evacuate August 20th.

EDIT

When Aggie heard about an employee meeting at an east side hotel, she went. But not for long. "The Exel people told us 'No, you can't come to the meeting'," she recalled. Not only was Aggie denied entry, but she is among 200 contract and temporary employees now left with nothing but questions.

No meetings, no paychecks, and worst of all no blood tests. Neither Exel nor Walmart will pay to have this group of workers from the facility tested for PCB exposure, no matter how many hours they worked. "Why won't Walmart take care of us?" she questioned. "Why are we excluded when we were all there exposed to this just like everybody else," she said.

I have dealt in hiring contact or temp employees and there are very clear policies that separate the temp employee from the company employee.

If the temp agency didn't write something into the contract or cost to make sure they were covered, the agency and the employee are out of luck. Most of the time, it is the temp employee on the short end of the stick
