One of the largest solar power parks under India’s National Solar Mission will have provisions for storage as well.

According to media reports, the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is expected to release a tender for a 750 MW solar power park at Ananthapuramu, in Andhra Pradesh. The solar power park shall also include provisions for storage of up to 100 MW.

Calling it a first-of-its-kind tender, Ashvini Kumar, Managing Director of SECI, said that every prospective bidder for the tender shall be required to set a small storage unit as well.

The solar power park at Ananthapuramu is expected to have an overall capacity of 1.5 GW, according to the latest information released by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, making it one of the largest solar power park in India. Another solar power park of 1 GW capacity has also been approved in the state.

I read that the U.S. backed WTO has nixed the project. nt ladjf Feb 2016 #1
Shouldn't the storage be measured in megawatt-hours? GliderGuider Feb 2016 #2

even the so-called tech media just can't get it right.

I once asked how much energy a 100MW storage facility would contain and was berated for not being able to read.

There seem to be about three people here that know the difference between power and energy.
