Canada's commercial seal slaughter begins again in a couple of weeks.
Hard to believe this is still happening in 2016.

Tens of thousands of baby harp seals are shot and bludgeoned to death in Canada's commercial seal slaughter each year.
This is the year that we must end this cruel practice.

The U.S., the U.K. and Russia have all banned seal product imports.--we are at the tipping point.

Canada's new Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, is supportive of many social issues, including gender equality and fighting climate change.

Please join PETA in urging him to extend his compassion further and usher in a new era of kindness and fiscal responsibility by ending federal subsidies of the commercial seal slaughter.

Even if you have taken action in the past on this issue, we need your voice now more than ever.
The world has rejected seal products, and it's time for Canada to help sealers transition out of this dying industry, provide them with appropriate compensation, and start funding sustainable industries to benefit rural communities instead.

Note: I am not a member of PETA; but, as far as I know, no other animal rights group is doing anything to stop the horrific slaughter of thousands innocent baby seals every year.

1. I agree with the argument

2. PETA is the only group doing anything to try to stop the slaughter of Canadian baby seals

as far as I know.

(I'm not a member of PETA)

Also, PETA is the only group putting pressure on China to change their horrific treatment of animals on factory farms, where angora rabbits have their fur cruelly & painfully ripped off their skins every 3 months, and then thrown back into their tiny, filthy cages, shaking in pain.

Many years ago, PETA used to break into animal experiment labs to set the animals free & other things like throwing blood on women wearing animal fur.
However, these days, PETA uses the power of boycotts and petitions in order to save animals from cruelty; and their boycotts have been very successful.
For example, many large clothing retailers like Eddie Bauer have stopped buying fur from China.

3. I know what PETA is and was

I don't go to their web site for a reason. And I suspect there are other organizations taking action regarding the seal slaughter like the Sea Shepherd Society and a few others.

I've been around this block a few times in the past half century.
