North Korea leader Kim will meet Putin in Russia later this month: Kremlin

MOSCOW (Reuters) - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will travel to Russia in the second half of this month and meet President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin said on Thursday.

It gave no further details in a statement on its website.

(Source- VOA Korea, 4.18) The Japanese press is reporting that Kim Jong Un's chief of protocol Kim Chang Son has been observed in Vladivostok, fueling speculation that Kim will meet with Vladimir Putin there next week.

Speculation has surged in recent days that Kim could hold his first summit meeting with President Vladimir Putin, with the Russian newspaper Izvestia citing a Foreign Ministry source as saying preparations were underway for a summit next week in the Far East city of Vladivostok, while Japan’s Fuji News Network showed footage of Kim’s protocol chief visiting the city on Wednesday.
