UN condemns 'deeply distressing' discovery of 92 naked migrants at Greece-Turkey border

The two countries have blamed each other for the plight of the 92 migrants.

Greece laid the blame at Turkey's door, saying its "behaviour" was a "shame for civilisation".

Turkey denied it sent the men across the Evros river and accused its neighbour of "cruelty".
...
"Border policemen... discovered 92 illegal migrants without clothes, some of whom had injuries on their bodies," the statement said.

but not very worthy of life imitating art that represented nudity in ancient Greece as a comfortable portrait of strength and heroism, and in the image of their Gods...though most kept their clothes on.

but weirder still, ancient Turks: https://allthatsinteresting.com/crotch-stone-carving-turkey (barbaric erotica?) no one seems to know.

So, yes, certainly to be understood as a "shame of (modern) civilization," consistent with the cruelty of a hate crime and barbarically revealing injuries inflicted.

Might this really be something that attention-loving TFG would therefore commission for his "special" GQP insurrectionists: A naked "Washington Crossing the Delaware,"? Vulgar, I'd say!

I do recall some similar humiliations at Gitmo, yes? To be noted these immigrants were apparently from Afghanistan and Syria...islamic? hmmm...some hateful things never change
