Russian Oil Collapses - Joe Blogs

Russia’s oil price has collapsed to around $36 per barrel, one of the biggest discounts we’ve seen since the war in Ukraine began — and the impact is enormous.

In today’s video, I break down why Russian crude is being sold at a 60% discount, what’s driving this dramatic price crash, and how the latest sanctions hitting Rosneft and Lukoil on 21 November are sending shockwaves through the entire Russian oil industry.

We’ll look at:
🔥 The new sanctions that directly target Russia’s two biggest oil exporters
🔥 Why buyers are pulling away and demanding massive discounts
🔥 How Russia’s export revenue is collapsing to multi-year lows
🔥 The knock-on effects for the Russian economy and state budget
🔥 Whether this could trigger long-term production decline
🔥 What this means for global oil markets and future prices

Russian oil is the backbone of Moscow’s economy. A collapse of this scale isn’t just a price move — it could reshape Russia’s financial future and change the dynamics of global energy.

Without oil profits coming in, they will no longer be able to cope with increasinly poor harvests by bringing in food from other countries, like potatoes from China (not making this up) and eggs from Turkey (nor this). Russians are going to have to scramble for what they can produce with a decreased labor force and machinery that is breaking down, not to mention lack of access to western seed stocks that had been giving them much higher yields.

Russians will notice that standing in line for everything they need to eat will be back and a lot of things will simply be unavailable on a permanent basis.
