An Alternative 28 Point Peace Plan for Ukraine and Russia - Econ Lessons
This is my 28-point alternative peace framework designed to imagine a more just, humane, and sustainable future for Ukraine and the wider region. Make the world a better place, that is what it's all about, right?
Drawing on principles of human dignity, environmental restoration, accountability, cultural renewal, and long-term stability, this plan outlines what a truly transformative peace could look likenot only ending the war, but preventing the next one.
Complete withdrawal and accountability for war crimes
The return of Ukrainian children and territorial integrity
Ukraines sovereign right to join NATO and the EU
Dismantling long-standing structures of authoritarianism and aggression in Russia
Redirecting extractive revenues into global peace, climate, and humanitarian programs
Eliminating nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons threats
Protecting culture, children, education, arts, music, and free expression
Strengthening democracy, civil society, and international law
Building a future where peace is learned, practiced, and protected
This vision is pro-humanity, pro-environment, anti-imperial, anti-racist, and rooted in global responsibility. I believe, like Hans King did, that global responsibility can also include a spiritual basis. It proposes a world where safety, culture, tolerance, and creativity replace violence, propaganda, and fearand where the next generation grows up arguing about chess moves, music, and ideas rather than borders and wars.
