NATO's Most Powerful Arctic Asset Is Hiding in Plain Sight - William Spaniel
Iceland is NATO's most powerful asset in the Arctic. It is essentially an unsinkable aircraft carrier, parked right in a key strategic location. However, the country has a unique security arrangement, spending almost nothing on core defense. Strangely, other allies do not seem to have a problem with this, despite pledges last year for every ally to raise total defense spending to 5% of GDP. This video examines the origin of the arrangement and why it makes everyone better off.
