The War in Iran has a huge impact on the question of whether or not China can attack Taiwan. On the surface, it seems like the right window of time. The United States is engaged in a war in the Middle East and using up limited weapons stockpiles. But there's another side to the story. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and how it's being done, speaks a lot to whether or not China could expect to be successful against Taiwan.
