There's a Ceasefire. So Why Isn't the Strait of Hormuz Open? - William Spaniel

After Tuesday's ceasefire, the Strait of Hormuz was supposed to reopen. It has not yet done so. A trickle of ships pass through, likely paying Iran a toll to do so safely. Today's video explores why the ceasefire did not result in more ships transiting. We cover some of the obvious issues, including Israel's offensive in Lebanon and Iran generally trying to negotiate a better deal. Afterward, we switch to some less obvious incentives, like internal divisions in Iran and tankers believing that even safer conditions will arise shortly.
