The Jewish terrorists who on Friday burned alive the Palestinian baby, whose little brother and parents are struggling for their lives in the hospital, are no different from the Spanish Inquisition or the murderers of Islamic State.
They share the same religious fanatical zeal, are motivated by the same contempt for basic human values and have similar modi operandi. All of them claim they have a direct link to God, understand his intentions and execute his wishes.
If the government really wishes Israel to remain free, democratic and westernized, despite the deep divisions between Left and Right, secular and religious, between Israeli Jews and Israeli Arabs, and between Israelis and Palestinians, it has to immediately change its state of mind. Not tomorrow. Today.
Already for a few years, a Jewish terrorist movement has been flourishing here; Jewish terrorists in the last two years have set fire to 16 Palestinian homes, mosques and churches, including inside Israel. Fortunately, all these previous cases ended without injuries.

(58,724 posts)Without being accused of bigotry.
When people commit acts of terror and say that they do so in the name of their religious beliefs, we should not pretend that said religious beliefs are not a factor.
I thought it was interesting coming from Jpost. It's come a long way from Conrad Black's days.

If these illegal colonists weren't in the West Bank then they wouldn't be free to harass and kill Palestinians there.

(58,724 posts)Jewish terrorism is when a Jewish person commits an act of terrorism motivated by the tenets of the religion.
This can be any Jew from any country living anywhere in the world.
The situation that you describe in the West Bank is related to Israeli government policies, not Judaism.
I know you've stated previously that it's important not to conflate the two.

(12,606 posts)"Jewish" does not mean religious alone, and terrorism can manifest itself in many forms, but the underlying objective of terrorism is to gain power through violence and intimidation.
Jewish terror = illegal colonization.
Deal with it, and stop with the lame attempts at plausible deniability.

(26,060 posts)is using the term Jewish terrorism. It seems all the I/P people have NO problem calling out terrorism when done by a Jewish person - it's even right here in the most right wing paper in Israel. That particular problem is only a problem for those who are loathe to tag any terrorism Islamic terrorism.

(68,868 posts)are the ones calling the shots in Israel. Israel's government kowtows to the Jewish Taliban who live in these outposts, appointing them to key diplomatic posts and putting them in charge of running the occupied West Bank.
And the price tag terrorists have gotten away with it in the vast majority of offenses, due to benign neglect from the government.
If Israel wants to actually address the problem, they could start by bulldozing the settlement from which this and other price tag terrorist attacks were launched. But they won't, because the agenda of the price tag terrorists is largely that of Israel's government and Israeli voters-terrorize and brutalize the Palestinians into subjugation.

Considering that Cliven Bundy types are in charge of the occupied territories, foreign ministry, and education system in Israel, not gonna hold my breath.
