By The Associated Press July 6, 2012 8:20 AM

GENEVA - The U.N.'s top human rights body has appointed three independent experts to conduct a fact-finding mission on how Israel's West Bank settlements affect Palestinians.

The president of the U.N. Human Rights Council, Uruguay Ambassador Laura Dupuy Lasserre, on Friday named three women to the panel: Christine Chanet of France, Unity Dow of Botswana and Asma Jahangir of Pakistan.

Dupuy Lasserre said their mission will be to look how the Israeli settlements impact "the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of the Palestinian people."

It would be interesting to see the UN Human Rights Council appoint three independent experts to conduct a fact-finding mission on how tens of thousands of high explosive rockets falling among the cities and farms of Southern Israel impact "the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights" of the Israeli people. But I know, they're too busy with other "important" things.

That the free world allows this stupidity to go on - is a huge step back from the lofty ideals of the UN when it was first created. The UN GA should be cleaned out of any and all totalitarian regimes. We've already seen the results of such stupidity as these criminal regimes throughout the world stomp on their own indigenous people who strive from freedom - and attack and threaten peaceful democratic states with impunity. The result, I believe, is that we are headed for a very destructive world war where innocent humans will die in very large numbers.

There is always a price for betraying one's principles. I think that bill is coming due.
