"WHO chief warns Gaza aid still far below need, urges Rafah reopening"

This is the headline from an article from Reuters dated 10/23/25 with a byline from Christy Santosh. Also there is further reporting in the link from Al Jazeera that 41NGO's are accusing Israel of arbitrarily rejecting permissions for aid trucks to enter Gaza. Western media has for many days now since the beginning of the "ceasefire" (in quotes because killing has continued) claimed that aid is "flowing" into Gaza. This gives the false impression that things are moving right along to help the starving. It can best be described as "not so much". The IDF has only made 2 out of the 7 available crossings functional and Rafah has remained a bottleneck despite it being the crossing with by far the most aid trucks waiting to enter.

Add to this the endless denials of entry by the IDF for various NGO's and their aid supplies. As pointed out the tonnage number of daily aid that has been calculated as needed to alleviate the starvation has only been fulfilled to about a 1/3 level. Also there has been over the last several days a "re-registration" for NGO's that the Israeli government has been forcing upon the crisis.

The US now claims it is studying doing away with their aid distribution organization/scheme they set up with the IDF earlier in the year. Two weeks into the ceasefire and while people starve further the US is thinking maybe it's grand organization isn't cutting it. So when the media or anybody else says aid is "flowing in" just remember that a choked and restricted system isn't really a flow so much as it is a weak, very insufficient stream that is something only a bit more than a trickle.
