Gallup figures suggest that Americans may be more skeptical of the need for a Palestinian state than Israelis.
According to figures gleaned from the early February Gallup World Affairs survey, released on Monday, 44 percent of Americans favor establishing a Palestinian state, while 37% oppose the idea.
Asked in January if they supported the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel, Israelis supported the idea by 54% to 38%, an Israel Hayom poll found.
The 10-point gap is larger than the combined margin of error of the two polls, which is 3.4% for the Israeli poll and 4% for the Gallup survey, though the Gallup poll showed a higher percentage of undecideds among Americans (19%) than the Israel Hayom poll found among Israelis (8%).

(25,699 posts)If they know much at all about the situation, it's usually based on the narrative provided by US media, which tends to be overwhelmingly anti-Palestinian (part of a larger trend towards being anti-Arab / Muslim in general)
And then you have that whole "ALL THE JEWS NEED TO BE IN ISRAEL FROM SEA TO RIVER SO JEEEEEEZUS CAN COME BACK!" mentality which is, thankfully, rather uniquely American (I think the world would implode if it spread further)

(4,151 posts)Israelis are more likely than Americans to support a Palestinian state however I would not trust any poll from Israel Hayom.
Sheldon Adelson's connections to Mitt Romney and to Bibi and their combined effort to derail Obama's re-election campaign makes me ponder as to what they are up to now .

Dogy poll. Would like to see a more reliable one.
