In the West Bank, a new settlement is born

http://972mag.com/in-the-west-bank-a-new-settlement-is-born/77859/

According to a report in Maariv, 72 families have moved into their homes in Leshem, and 70 more are expected to do so in the coming year. The plan is to build around 400 more housing units.

Israel has committed – both in the Oslo Accords and to the Bush administration – not to construct new settlements, so Leshem is considered by the state a neighborhood of the nearby Alei Zahav settlement; however, Leshem is expected to manage its affairs as an independent municipality.

Army Radio has called Leshem “the first official settlement in 20 years.”

Naughty, naughty.

in the Israel/Palestine group. That's the best way to deflect from the OP.

Good call Scootaloo.

Oh, BTW. A warm hello to Team Apartheid. Keep the distractions going.

This is by far the most perfect example of colonial thinking, delusional rationalization and apartheid cheerleading that I have ever seen (this week) in I/P.

This appears to be written by a 10 year old with not a very clear hold on reality. It reminds me of the Westboro Baptist Church kid that held up a sign stating that "God hates F_G's." There's no debating with a child like that.

I'm not sure what this cat is attempting to achieve, but it isn't based in logic.

Heck, the next logical discussion that you participate in here will be your 1st.

At that point, we can party and I'll buy the first round.

Thought you'd like the smilies. I've considered responding to you in all smilies from now on. Seems to be your native form of language here.

There is no way Israel can expect any kind of peace talks to move forward when settlements deep in the West Bank continue to grow.

Sadly, I do not think the leadership is in place in Israel for there to be any real chance of a breakthrough.

We need to get back to the Geneva Accords.
