http://mondoweiss.net/2014/07/killed-turning-onslaught.htmlThe boys were not killed by Hamas, Rosenfeld told Donnison, as he reported on Twitter:
(see twitter posts)
The information about the gunshots on that desperate last phone call was widely known in the media, but as we reported, the Israeli government issued a gag order against these facts being published. And over the last two-and-a-half weeks of June, the Israelis launched extensive raids across the West Bank, locking down Hebron, supposedly to find the boys. But the major focus of the raids was rooting out Hamas affiliates and arresting them. In fact, the purpose of the raids seemed to be to break up the recent unity government between Hamas and Fatah, which Israel has vigorously opposed.
To this day the world is still waiting for the Netanyahu government to release the information they say they had about the cukpability of Hamas in the deaths of three Israeli settlers.
Frankly they haven't forwarded up that information or any proof of their claims. If, as the article states that those claims were false, then the Netanyahi government is responsible for a lot of deaths and the first death in this latest round of carnage is the truth.

(15,480 posts)In the murderous tradition of he-who-must-not-be-named. Voldemort? Chaney? A little farther back in history. Let's travel in the way-back machine, or Dr. Who's Tardis, back to 1939, to the Geliwitz incident which started WWII. If social media had been on the Nazis' asses, their lies/propaganda could have been promptly exposed and doubtless motivated immediate opposition from the get go.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gleiwitz_incident
The Gleiwitz incident (German: Überfall auf den Sender Gleiwitz; Polish: Prowokacja gliwicka) was a false flag operation by Nazi forces posing as Poles on 31 August 1939, against the German radio station Sender Gleiwitz in Gleiwitz, Upper Silesia, Germany (since 1945: Gliwice, Poland) on the eve of World War II in Europe. The goal was to use the staged attack as a pretext on the basis of which to invade Poland.
This provocation was the best-known of several actions in Operation Himmler, a series of unconventional operations undertaken by the SS in order to serve specific propaganda goals of Nazi Germany at the outbreak of the war. It was intended to create the appearance of Polish aggression against Germany in order to justify the subsequent invasion of Poland.
Much of what is known about the Gleiwitz incident comes from the affidavit of Alfred Naujocks at the Nuremberg Trials. In his testimony, he states that he organized the incident under orders from Reinhard Heydrich and Heinrich Müller, chief of the Gestapo. On the night of 31 August 1939, a small group of German operatives, dressed in Polish uniforms and led by Naujocks, seized the Gleiwitz station and broadcast a short anti-German message in Polish (sources vary on the content of the message). The Germans' goal was to make the attack and the broadcast look like the work of anti-German Polish saboteurs.
To make the attack seem more convincing, the Germans brought in Franciszek Honiok, a German Silesian known for sympathizing with the Poles, who had been arrested the previous day by the Gestapo. Honiok was dressed to look like a saboteur; then killed by lethal injection, given gunshot wounds, and left dead at the scene, so that he appeared to have been killed while attacking the station. His corpse was subsequently presented as proof of the attack to the police and press.
The link details how, besides Honiok, other prisoners from the Dachau concentration camp were kept available for this purpose. What struck me was that the Nazis referred to them by the code phrase "Konserve" ("canned goods" . Isn't that precious? Almost as precious as Israeli military referring to murders of Palestinian civilians as "mowing the grass".
"Israel is acting in accordance with a 'mowing the grass' strategy. After a period of military restraint, Israel is acting to severely punish Hamas for its aggressive behavior, and degrading its military capabilities -- aiming at achieving a period of quiet."
The "mowing the grass" image is an all-out Israeli air and ground attack on a largely helpless civilian population of 1.8 million Palestinians, all of whom are trapped inside prison-like Gaza walls.

(85 posts)Which is why I personally find it a particular obscenity that a government would use such a tragedy as a cover to achieve a political goal - destroy the unity government.
After the boys bodies were located, Shin Bet confirmed to media that they "knew" within 24 hours of the kidnapping, who the kidnappers were, and where to look for the boys. They were aware that the jihadist branch that these kidnappers were associated with were not in agreement with a unity government - and certainly not in agreement to have peace with Israel. They knew that Hamas had little to no control over this group.
It is unfortunate that Hamas reacted to Israel's round up and raids in a predictable manner - with rocket fire.
Having said that, the said leader of Hamas (Meshaal ?) sits comfortably in Qatar, while Gaza burns.

(57,936 posts)of unarmed Israelis? Do the Palestinians enforce the law against Palestinians who break the peace, who break a ceasefire? I don't know. I am asking.
Before there can be peace or meaningful negotiations in any part of the world, the two sides to a dispute have to agree to enforce the peace that is agreed to. I think that a lot of the problem in Palestine and Israel is that the Palestinians have so many factions that no one of them can negotiate and then enforce a peace agreement.

Ten days ago, at a security cabinet meeting, Mossad Chief Tamir Pardo outlined a scenario spookily similar to the kidnapping of the three Israeli teens missing since Thursday night.
The meeting dealt with the report of the Shamgar Committee on prisoner exchanges and on the Habayit Hayehudi bill that prohibits granting pardons to terrorists.
..
"What will you do if in a week three 14-year-old girls will be kidnapped from one of the settlements?," he asked. "Will you say there is a law, and we don't release terrorists?"
Pardo did not convince the ministers, however. At the cabinet meeting three days later, the appeal of Science and Technology Minister Jacob Perry was rejected and the bill passed to a Knesset vote. By Wednesday, the bill passed its preliminary reading in the Knesset.

(30,099 posts)By Lisa M. Ruth,
WASHINGTON, May 15, 2014 The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the same terrorist group taking over Iraq, reportedly has claimed responsibility for kidnapping three teenagers in the West Bank last week, according to Israeli media.
The Dawlat al-Islam group, an affiliate of ISIS, called Reuters Jerusalem and said it was behind the kidnapping. According to the caller, the attack was in retaliation for the killing of three of its members.
At the same time, the group distributed flyers near Hebron. The notices, written in Arabic, said, Thanks to Allah, our holy warriors were able to kidnap three Zionist aggressors in the city of Hebron in the occupied West Bank.
The flyers further state that the attack was part of the initial response to the assassination of our heroic holy warriors in Hebron, Muhammad Nairoukh, 29 years old, Mahmoud Al-Najjar, 23 years old, and Musi Makhamreh, 22 years old. And that [also] comes as part of the pursuit to liberate our prisoners from the occupation forces prisons. And it is [either] a jihad [for] victory or martyrdom.
Despite the statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blames Hamas, the Palestinian group that has ruled Gaza Strip for years, for the kidnappings.
In a statement today, Netanyahu said, This morning I can say what I was unable to say yesterday before the extensive wave of arrests of Hamas members in Judea and Samaria, he said, Those who perpetrated the abduction of our youths were members of Hamas the same Hamas that Abu Mazen made a unity government with. This has severe repercussions.

Hey, if Israel is sitting on evidence if Hamas involvement into these killings then they should present it. I'd live to see it.
