...The decision not to cooperate with the probe was approved by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman, the Ynet news website reported.
The Foreign Ministry said the decision came about because of the UN Human Rights Councils obsessive hostility toward Israel and one-sided mandate. It also cited anti-Israel statements made by inquiry head William Schabas as a factor in the move.
While Hamas fired thousands of rockets toward Israel, the UN Human Rights Council decided it would determine in advance Israels guilt and set up an investigative committee to serve as a rubber stamp to its known positions, a ministry statement said.
Since the Schabas commission is not an inquiry but a commission that gives its conclusions in advance, Israel will not cooperate with the UN Commission on Human Rights over the last conflict with Hamas, Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon said in a statement.

(14,851 posts)And why cooperate with a joke like the UNHRC that has nothing to do with human rights and is dedicated to the investigation of Israel to the exclusion of any other countries and who's members are just about all the worst human rights offenders on the planet.
Why cooperate when the fix is in?

They're cowards, all of them...they will not cooperate and they'll not accept any report
by any human rights group..their reasons for refusing make them a bad joke to the world.
Egypt did something similar recently, people laughed at their reasoning too.

These human rights hell holes have already made up their mind about Israel, long ago.
Worse, Schabas admitted on TV that he wasn't aware of the UN doing any investigation of Hamas war crimes. Hamas wasn't mentioned in the resolution that passed, giving a green light to the inquiry.

It's a joke and you make yourself look worse by denying there are any issues with this UN inquiry.

I'm sure you hated it.
Jefferson23
(30,099 posts)That would be the one Israel would accept. Uribe is known to have no use for
human rights groups and this attitude has been established with regard to
human rights groups in Columbia, too.
Balance is when you see a report that is contrary to all other human rights groups,
honest people question the integrity of the report.
I don't expect that from Israeli nationalists.
shira
(30,109 posts)See, the problem is that you can't stand the report concluding that the IHH thugs were looking for a fight, and that the IDF commandos were defending themselves from pre-meditated violence.
Your version of a fair report would've had the IDF looking for trouble, taking it out against innocents for no reason DESPITE video evidence showing otherwise.
You're so transparent.
=====================
Anyway, so much for Israel not accepting any inquiry into their actions. You were wrong but keep deflecting with bullshit...
Jefferson23
(30,099 posts)of the report. How do you reconcile the contrary reports..a conspiracy against Israel?
Israel did not accept that they used excessive force which the report stated they did..so why
are you cheering for yourself and Israel?

I am transparent, the reports reflect what I said..they don't accept anything, even when given
a pass.

The reports you prefer deliberately distort the picture, making the IDF look like aggressors aiming to hurt or kill innocents.
That's fucked up.
Seriously fucked up.

Israel denied entry on Wednesday evening to members of a UN commission appointed by the Human Rights Council to investigate possible war crimes committed during Operation Protective Edge.
Members of the committee, often referred to by the name of the lead investigator, Prof. William Schabas, had arrived in Amman before asking permission to enter Israel. Jerusalem refused their request and the decision led to an announcement that Israel would not cooperate with the commission.
The Schabas commission was appointed by the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva to investigate alleged war crimes committed by Israel and Hamas during the heated confrontation last summer.
